The Nehru Zoological Park, also known as the Hyderabad Zoo, is one of the largest zoos in India. The 380 acre zoo was established in the city of Hyderabad in 1963 and named after the first prime minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru.
The zoo is home to more than 250 species of animals, birds, and reptiles. While touring the safari parks, zoo-goers will have the opportunity to observe tigers, lions, bears, and bison in their natural settings.
The zoo is open from Tuesday to Sunday all year round. It is closed on Mondays. The zoo facilities include train, boat, and elephant rides, a cafeteria, a guest house, and more. Transportation is also available for touring the zoo.
Located next to a picturesque lake, the zoo provides abundant opportunity for capturing the beautiful flora and fauna on camera.
